Someone Explain this: warranty sticker on 1976 HD
Back then those were considered 'hot rods', and one of the bikes to have....
The picture the OP atached brought back memories, as I believe the new bikes we bought in 1972 also had some type of 'Break In" sticker on the speedo.. First thing we did was to install 4" over tubes, have chrome forward controls fabricated, and I doubt if anyone really followed the recommended break in procedure.
I rode Shovelheads for many years, and don't recall having any real warranty issues.
Many of us took our bikes to Hannum's (Media, PA) if we needed something done in a hurry and the service guys were always willing to do whatever and they never tried to 'screw anyone'.
Of course dealerships were different back in the early 1970's, usually just a few bikers hanging around drinking coffee or having a beer while talking with the parts or service folks, and you usually knew most of the guys that hung around... I feel totally out of place and almost hate to enter the new "Mega Dealerships"...
