I guess each to their own, but in my opinion the "new" Wide Glide is a Wide Glide in name only....

I currently have 2 Wide Glides, a 1996 EVO and a 2003 100th Anniversity TC..

I've always had a soft spot for the Wide Glides, and they are great bikes..

Lundee, I think you make a great point here. It's not so much I don't like the new Wide Glide. It's more that they used the "Wide Glide" name for that bike. The Wide Glide was marketed as a 70's style Chopper. Thus the Bob Tail, Mini Ape Hangers, stepped seat, chrome etc. It just aint a Wide Glide. It would be kinda like Harley saying we are not making any more Ultra Glides, we are only going to make Road Glides but we are changing the name of the Road Glide to Electra Glide. It just wouldn't be the same. IMFUO.

The main thing I dislike about the new WG is the handlbars. My eyes go straight to them, everytime, and it just looks weird. Mini apes and the bike could be in business...

I think it's a good looking bike! Put some ape's on it and it's a bad bitch!

I guess people like me and all the people that have bought Night Trains and Nightsters and Irons. I've always liked Harleys but never wanted one until I saw the Iron. Never been a fan of chrome. I still dont understand why they put chrome pipes on the Iron.

Don't care for the pipes or that little "attitude bar" as the sales people called it, but the new WG has potential...who keeps a bike stock, anyway?

I agree, I don't like the new ones either.

I assume you mean "Young Punk", and I gather you are "Older", being an F4 fan. That being said, you pretty much provided the answer to your own question. The new "Dark Custom" look is intended to attract "younger" buyers. The current average age of a Harley buyer is 47, and climbing. If the MoCo is to survive, they need to attract more buyers in their 20's and 30's.
