Default Question about using pledge...

I've heard a few of you say that you use pledge on your bike.
Where do you use it?
Have you tried the pledge multi-surface?

I have hard water and had some water spots that just wouldn't come off the chrome. All I had on hand was some pledge multi-surface (Glass, wood, metal, electronics) so I tried it and it did a great jod at removing the hard water spots!

Pledge does work great, Don't use on your winshield. I use to use on my dad's bikes back in the '70's but in this day and age we have so many spray on wipe off products it just only makes sense to use them. By the way pledge does leave "Wax build up".
So, If ya' need a quick clean and thats all you have, Go for it. I seem to notice that the dust does'nt stick to my bags if I use pledge on them. At least not as bad. My Ultra is Black and every spec shows.

I use Pledge on my motor. It keeps it nice and black.

I love using pledge on my bike and it cleans great. Just use one rag to apply it and a clean one to wipe it off. Never have used soap and sponge yet. Bike still looks like the day i bought it. Works great on the tank and all chrome parts. Esp the wheels, clean all the road grime right off.

Great thanks! Just wasn't sure it I had used it on those chrome peices and it was a giant no-no....Whew.
Not sure if the multi-surface stuff will leave such a build up....much thinner then regular pledge. Will have to keep an eye on it.

I know many people use pledge but for me I use Plexus, use it on all my bikes and it works great. If you have any fine scratches in your windshield or saddle bags etc. it removes them. If there are alot of bugs and stuff on I place hot towels on and then let them soak for awhile and use plexus with water and they just wipe right off.

I Haven't heard of using Pledge, I'll have to give it a try, I think I'll have to do a test area to see how it effects flat paint though.
I've heard of using Armorall on your seat for long trips, The idea behind (no pun intended) it is that your pants will slide against the seat and not your butt, preventing the 6-8 hour in the saddle chaffe at the end of the day. I haven't tried it yet, I'm a little concerened about it being too slippery.
Has anyone else ever heard of this!

With regards to the Armorall on the seat question, I once read somewhere that you shouldn't put any dressing on your seat that will cause it to become slippery - like Armorall is subject to do for at least the short-term after it is applied. It made sense to me! My little narrow butt needs all the help it can get to stay attached to the bike.

Try Vinylex on your seat and any black leather, vinyl, or plastic on your bike and it will shine beautifully. That's all I use on the seat, and all the other black parts. I also use pledge. I use it on the tank and fenders only though. I'll have to try it on the engine. It's certainly cheaper than s100 total engine brightener. Thnaks for the info.
