Try the flatbread in Motor if you are hungry!
I've been there a number of time including the Grand Opening. Of course do all of the above, but unlike the other poster, I find the food in the Motor Restaurant to be quite good! I highly recommend the breakfast.
We spent the best part of a full day there, we broke up the day by eating in the Restaurant, had a couple of beers and enjoyed the food (and my wife is extremely picky when it comes to restaurant food). Had a very enjoyable and relaxing day. The kids did the scavenger hunt, so the Museum is well geared up for everyone. Would recommend it, enjoy.
Yeah, it's hard to give any more or better advice than what's been said. I've been in the museum only one, and like any museum you can stroll through it or study every display. A typical visit takes between 2 and 3 hours. I also think the food in Motor resturant is very good. There is a cafateria next to the Motor which has cheaper food, the earlier complaint may have been for that area. I don't know if you're from Milwaukee or not, but the gounds outside are a great social gathering area during the warm months. The museum's weekly bike night is a blast.
