As long as it's not raining/sleeting and no ice on roads (or is going to form, like someone else said), it's never too cold if you know how to bundle up correctly.

I usually cut off at 40! I hate putting that many layers on to ride!

I went out this past weekend and I think I found my limit. Temps ranged from 39 to 42 and I was dressed for it. I was pretty much OK except for my fingers. I was wearing Gortex snowmobile gloves with a liner and even with all that the fingers started feeling really cold after about 1 1/2 hours on the road (50 to 70mph variety).

When I was younger and the circulation worked the way it should I probably could have ridden all day but not any more. I think I'll start calling anything below 50 degrees outside of my comfort level.

Your mileage and cold tolerance may vary (especially with age!)

No ice, snow, road salt, sleet/rain and such and it should be good. I can do cold or I can do wet.... but I'm too damn old to do cold and wet.

Coldest I've ridden is 20* but for the most part I was pretty warm. Cold and wet is definitely too much to take. If the roads were clearer I'd consider riding now but I have an issue with ice under my tires.

Outside temp guage says 39 degrees 45 miles NW of Atlanta. Just got back from a 45-minute run taking a check to the bank and through Red Top Mountain State Park. Long sleeve t-shirt/jeans over long johns, chaps and leather jacket, heavy gloves. It was cold, but not miserable. Might could go a little colder with the windshield back on and a face/neck mask of some sort...but only for something special or important...like I haven't ridden for a few weeks...;-)!

Once it gets down to 38-40, forget it. Chances of ice, and no way any bike of mine ever sees road salt

Ah yes, all wonderfull insight. guess i'll just have to get out there, freeze my cohonies off and find out what my {dam it's friggen cold} tolarance level is.... Perhaps a nice little ride to the Dealership is in order. I'ts only about 10 miles away. I could warm up there for a minute.
