I have a pair of cowboy boots with non-skid soles and normal heels but I bought
them a bit too tight so I can't wear heavy socks with them or get my Gerbing heated
insoles into them. They're great in warm weather though. I also have a pair of calf-high,
lace up work boots that leak like a sieve but are very comfortable and large enough
to allow multiple sock layers and the Gerbing insoles.

I saw these boots a week ago at the BMW dealer and I'm really tempted to order a pair..

have couple pair of Harly boots and O.K. for riding, BUT, get off the bike and walk around and my feet hurt like hell. Looking for riding and walking boot and from what I have read on several threads seems Bates may be the way to go. What say yea all knowing members of the boot threads?

I wore Sidi On Road Sympatex for about 10 years: comfortable, waterproof. Now wear Dayton Riders.

I was wondering about this. Most of the purpose built boots don't look very comfortable to walk in. I wear a pair of Rocky brand upland hunting boots mostly because I already had them. They are not too bad. They are waterproof and you can walk around all day and not get sore feet. They don't look like motorcycle boots but so what.

When your feet hurt you don't care what the boots look like....hell I'll wear the pink ones to keep my feet from hurting. Nothing worse than being at Daytona and having feet to hurt.....rip those sucka's off and go bare-footed.

The best boots I have ever had are Chippewas. They have a lug sole for shedding gravel and sand and provide good ankle support. The best price I have found is at Sears believe it or not. These boots are well made , I am wearing my work boots for their sixth year, every day. A Vibram lug sole is nearly indestructible and they are comfortable to walk in.
