I think people are talking about two different items here , the oil preasure gauge on the Ultras and others are a PREASURE gauge the dip sticks are TEMP are they not

You may be referring to my earlier post.......

I don't think anyone is confused, maybe I can make my previous post more clear.

Ultra's come stock with an "oil pressure" gauge.
I also deleted my "air temp gauge" and installed an "oil temp gauge".

I kinda bagged on the "oil temp stick" as I don't think they are very useful.
They measure the temp of the oil in the oil tank, not in the engine as a gauge does.

Sorry if I confused anyone with my earlier post.

The OP is considering an oil pressure gauge, great idea IMO.

Got rid of the tensioners on the twin cam. Gear drive now but the tensioners almost took out my oil pump before the change. I had some serious grooving in the oil pump. Good hint for those that still run tensioners. The thing I like about the oil pressure gauge isn't the reading but the consistency of the readings. I know what normal looks like so abnormal should stand out now. On the twin cam and the Evo.

Had one put in after my engine was diagnosed with a defect at 6K miles. Worth every penny IMHO.

Not really needed! At first I thought they were until I saw the hot idle no reading.Panic!! you bet, then an old timer pointed out,you can't maintain pressure on a roller bearing motor.Whew! what relief.

I kinda like the single bolt mount better

I am looking at one on ebay as well. It looks like it has a hard line, not a hose and the gage mounts to the rear rockerbox. I''m wondering, how much oil pressure should a stock evo register?

The only thing I can say about the single bolt mount guage is you won't have to pull the back bolt out of the gas tank to lift it up to get the middle rocker box bolt out. The single bolt mount gets bumped and moved a lot and you will find yourself straighten it out all the time.
