I bought an Equis one for a car that you can read the lower end of the scale, going into the EG as soon as I feel like doing it. I do not want to look down while riding to see it. My bike idles at 750 and I am not so sure it is charging that low. So i manually keep it about a grand to keep the voltage up and oil flowing. I may get ambitious and crank the idle speed up someday. With this gauge I figure if I see it is off the peg at warm idle I should be good. Most auto gauges dont really have markings or numbers below 20 that you can actually see ...This one does.

I just had to remove the rear bolt on the tank so that I could lift it a few inches and prop it up with a piece of wood. The tank just pivots on the front bolts.
In other words, remove the rear bolt, lift rear of tank a bit, R&R head bolts, lower rear of tank, replace rear tank bolt......easy.

Guage kit the MoCo sells is junk........leak'd like hell after a week, leaves some nasty chit (mineral oil,I think) all over everything.....fixed it and filled it twice, still leak'd like hell......kept the bracket and used an AutoMeter.....no trouble since.....hindsight be'n foresight, would spend a little more for a Ness....just a better product
