I bought this item Auxiliary Running Light / Brake Light / Turn Signal Conversion Kit - Bullet Lens Style, from HD
Now my lights run hotter
. Is this normal? should I replace with LED's?

If you're talking about the plug in module and replacement lens version I have it on two bikes and they work fine. Didn't compare the temps of the bulbs before and after so I don't know anything about that.

I got the Aux kit but haven't installed it yet. I'm waiting until it gets above zero again :-(
I think I'm going to do the mod to have the turn signals only come on when turning or braking rather than have them on all the time as running lights. I got the mod from the forum at this link:

It's well worth getting. You will notice quite a differance in your mirrors at how people react behind you with the extra 2 brake lights.

You can add a brake flash module for less than $20. I got the Rearalert module on Ebay and it's works fine.
Kuryakyn and some others make a single module that does it all but I wasn't aware of them at the time I bought mine.
