I don't buy very many items without at least reading something on it.
With all thats available on the net and as many articles and mags that there are on Harleys out there, its no ones fault other than their own (Laziness) that anyone is surprised with a Harleys performance...
[quote=Da Gumpmeister;6047028]EVERYONE should be required to 'learn' on a 68 Ironhead.
Hey Gumby, that 68 ironhead was my third bike and I was in tall cotton cause it was an XCH (electric start). Never even complained about the brakes, or lack of, cause I just wanted it to go.

Wait a minute,.... now anybody who complains is "Laziness"?
Dude, what's gotten into you. Have you gone over to the Dark Side?????
We shall miss you over here in the land of "normalcy". He he!
As a H-D tech,Im allways saying,They shouldve had to own a shovelhead or ironhead before ever buying a twin cam, then they would know what Noise, vibaration, and oil consumption is all about.....Like you said blah blah blah.
Tinkering on bikes is fun for some my 77 sporty and 84 shovel needed tweaks here and there, adjusting pushrods, carb adjustments, replacing chains belts bendix gears batteries to name just a few things to do.Now with the twincams they basically dont need much tweaking they run and start like a charm. technology is a good thing
I have to admit when I first bought my first harley, the sportster,it was the image thing, being seen on a harley, but after riding it, it all changed, I am absolutly in love with my new 2010 fatboy lo, the sporty was cool, but doesn't compare the fatboy, as for price, its worth every penny!!!!
Most of them are squid trolls. They have nothing else in life and never ever get laid due to severe deformities from endless crashes trying to pull off wheelies and stoppies. That along with the fact that they are such douchebags no woman would want to be seen with them. Ignore them, or give them some ****.

Reason: Didn't quote the OP. Made no sense unless I did...
anything mechanical will wear and eventually break or need repair. You have high heat, high torque, big wear. Harley is a great product and I will stand behind them any time.
