First off, you said "Girlfriend", Not wife to be or wife so I think you fulfilled your obligations as a dude. Although she is a "hottie"! we dont know your finances or her's so it is hard to form an educated opinion without all the info.
I think if she is embarrassed to ride a nice looking V-twin that isnt a Harley, you could tell her to match your investment & you will upgrade her to a Harley at that point.
Good luck.

I think she should be grateful that she now has the option to ride with you, or behind you. If she wants something different, she can trade it in and make herself happier. But you did a great thing by getting her "on two wheels", now she can fine tune the situation.

Has she ever handled or piloted a heavy bike (cruiser) on her own? I mean 600 + # ? There's gonna be a world of hurt looming on the horizon for someone who isn't or hasn't been accustomed to the weight and handling characteristics of a big scoot. Male or Female. Sitting on a static bike and then actually controlling one are two entirely different animals.
If she has, Kuel. If she hasn't. Not Kuel. I don't believe that you really want to visit her in the ICU at the local Body Mart. If this is her 1st bike it looks to be maybe the right size, maybe a little big, for her to learn on and I'm sure that you are well aware of the fact that you still may be visting her in the ICU. It doesn't take too much speed to do major damage. I am not trying to scare either of you but at 5 feet tall and probably I dunnow 100# that's a major load. I started my younger sister off when she wanted to learn to ride on a one lung 550 cc Suzuki when she was 35 years old and she mastered that relatively easily and road it for about two years. She now has the ability to ride her Husbands Lowrider without a second thought. Start smallish, get plenty of practice, and work your way up. This ain't no bicycle. O'Yeah tell her that good things come to those who wait. I think she can probably relate to that.
