Just bought the girlfriend a '09 honda shadow. shes dissapointed its not a harley, which i can understand. I told her a harley isnt an option right now, maybe later. she said she'll be embarrassed riding it around anyone with a "real" bike. what do you guys think? attachted is a recent pic.
My wife wanted to learn how to ride and I suggested a Honda shadow, indicating that Harley's were too powerful for a beginner. She said she was afraid that everyone would laugh at her because the bike was so small. Pissed me off so I told her to go ahead and do whatever she wanted, I wasn't helping.

Tell her to STFU and ride the darn thing.... if she's "embrassed", tell her to cough up the cash for the upgrade.
Unlike many.... I'd rather ride a metric, that sit at home, complaining about not having a bike.
That Aero 750's is a nice bike... easy to handle, quick, and comfortable enough.... dependable..... and best of all... YOU bought, not her.

Sounds like she has failed the test. Next thing to happen is once you propose to her she will wine about how small her engagement ring is. Then once you have a baby she will make you get rid of your dog. Then once your kid grows up a bit she will complain that you both got married to young.

She is a keeper if you feels that strong about riding a Harley. Let her win this one. You can win a lot of other ones that don't mean any thing. Run, Run like the wind to the Harley dealer and get her a real bike!
