What are the concerns about Laconia? Awesome time up there.
Americade in June, Lake George NY.
Thunder in the Valley in June , Johnstown Pa.
Little Sturgis in KY, July.
These last three are fairly close to us. I think one of my truck clubs is planning a camping trip to Lake George again in June this year. I'll follow the links once I'm home and not on my phone.
Garden City, Surf Side Beach, Pawley's Island, North MB are very hospitable. MB is only a small part of the equation.
I did the above last spring and this past fall. It was DEAD. No vendors, not many bikes, kind of lame. They need to just face the fact that this rally is history and sell the Beaver Bar and SBB before they loose there *****. I believe Thunder Beach will be exploding at the seams this year!
This is a great time I have been going to the SmokeOut for 10 years now and it is always a good time. But it isn't a rally like MB or Daytona.

You should take an extra day and travel down to Panama City Beach for their bike week. We were faithful to Myrtle Beach for 11 years but no more. Last spring we went to Thunder Beach it was like Myrtle was in the old days. Fun Fun Fun.
I also live in MD, myrtle 500 miles, Laconia 500 miles, Tail of the Dragon 500 miles. The dragon is a great trip and the riding in the smokie mountains is also great, Laconia is also a great trip, Myrtle is dead. Been too all more than once and Blue Ridge Parkway to the Dragon is my favorite trip, the dragon is ok but tons of great ridng everywhere.
I think you need to just put your bike in the back of your truck and go to FL.... since its to far for you to ride then drive... maybe that will be far enough south for you.
