The Roar to the Shore in Wildwood, NJ is good and it's not a far drive from you. Wildwood is like a amusment park on the beach. They are very biker friendly. Just Watch The Tramcar Please. http://www.roartotheshoreonline.com/
Outer banks is a great time, this will be my 4th year going. Weather is great, housing is very reasonable. Everyone there is happy to so you come. Make a day trip to Ocracoke.

+1 on Ocracoke.. Great Island. Haven't been there for bike week but did spend a week there a few years ago.
Are you chitting me, Ocracoke to see 3 penned up wild horses. Stay in Devils Hills or other small towns along the way to the Outter Banks. Very biker friendly.
I also live in MD, myrtle 500 miles, Laconia 500 miles, Tail of the Dragon 500 miles. The dragon is a great trip and the riding in the smokie mountains is also great, Laconia is also a great trip, Myrtle is dead. Been too all more than once and Blue Ridge Parkway to the Dragon is my favorite trip, the dragon is ok but tons of great ridng everywhere.
another MD'er here... I told my wife when I die, scatter half my ashes on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the other half on the Cherahola Skyway... LOVE riding in those areas.
Same here. MB is a no-no as far as we're concerned. We'd rather spend a week riding in the Smoky Mtns than boozing in MB. Been there, done that for several years and we were getting tired of it anyway.
