Aahhhh the Old school days
Oh yeah......I remember those days with my Ironhead Sportster!
Drill a small hole in the oil pan so it leaves a puddle. I'm not sure how you'd pull it off, but you need to do something so starting is a sporadic event and breakdowns are frequent. You may get a bit of an authentic old school feel by not wrenching on the bike in your garage - grab a handful of tools, ride somewhere, pull over on the side of the road and work on it there. Get a friend with an old pickup involved - ride out somewhere, call him, and the two of you wrestle the bike into the back of the P/U then ride home together.
The days where you pull up to a pig roast & there was always a broad walkin' around with the big *** oil stain all the way up her back!
Dont see that too much any more! Love them old tractor seats with the chrome springs under them as your only suspension!
I miss my ol' shovel!

Most of what was done/worn was because of cost...I remember doing a rattle can lace paint job on a BSA tank, then using tape pinstripe...it was all we could afford...
Some of the stuff was junk; anyone remember using "slugs" to extend a front end? It was deemed safe by many as long as the slugs were between the upper and lower tree...
What I really miss is the camaraderie...there's a couple million more "bikers" on the road now and while it's friendly it's not the same.....
"RIDERS", Yes, "Bikers", No.
Heritage ??? Easiest to "Retro". It's 1/2 done, when you buy it. Spend the coin, put on a "vintage" paint scheme.
Obviously with a 'black' theme.
"Oval" floorboards. Retro grips. True duals with Fishtails.
IF your thoughts were "custom", Uhhhhhh, ya dunn bought the wrong model. BUT, a DAMMT good one, at THAT !!!!
