Pulling up next to a stranger

Pulling up next to a stranger
What is acceptable behavior in stop-n-go traffic or at a light?
I was in traffic. It was moving 5mph or less and lots of stopping. The guy on the mc in front of me would ride and stop at the very left side of the lane. I stayed to the right but would never pull up next to him. I do the same at lights. He seemed to be open to me pulling up next to him but I never did.
What do y'all do?

Find "N" jus' before you come to a stop, next to 'em. KEEP the clutch pulled in, like you are in gear, and 'thinkin' 'bout GOING FOR IT !!!
WHEN the light is jus' ready to turn green, let go of your clutch, reach over, and hit his KILL switch. Grab first, troddle up, and blow that pop stand.
Uhhh, jus' make DAMMT sure, he is NOT a Prospect, at the BACK of the pack, when you do it, OKAY ???????
I always make plenty of room in my lane, IF they wanna pull up. No prob. Chances are REAL GOOD, they are gonna 'blow outta there' way faster than me. Now I have a 'front door', and the stopping distance I NEED. Friggin' cagers will pull into that BIG AZZT open spot, I have to leave.
Likewise, I will pull up 'longside, if they are over. But, again, 'they' can leave first. PESHALLY if they are 'duck walking' to get rollin' !!!!!!
Not too many peeps get pizzt when the Cap'n pulls alongside 'em in the lane. Not even the "rocketeers".
