never was a drinker so I have not had that problem. Its something I have never really understood the allure of the Harley and a drinkin at a bar- just never really made sense to me. I have to sayu I have seen people who I thought were loaded ride off happily, so its pretty common. I really like reading all the comments about not drinking - surprised me

I do sometimes have a few drinks but not when I am riding and don't really want to ride with someone else that has been. If they go down, they can take some other riders with them.

Then at least 1 1/2 hours before we ride...coffee.
Coffee doesn't make you sober, just keep you awake.

I Drink and Ride sometimes and I like it. I don't get Drunk and Ride. But I like going on a ride, stopping at a Bar, having some drinks, shooting pool, listening to the jukebox, getting a bite to eat, etc. I don't ride with people I don't know or ride in Poker runs, etc.

I hold it to one per hour, and I drink "light beer" when I'm on the bike.

Many years ago I sold my car as it wasn't needed - I live 4 blocks from work and plan on retiring from there in a few years, anyway to make a long story short I have to travel for work and they rent cars for our employees. That being said, you have NO INSURANCE if you have an accident while under the influence so while I used to have a few and drive....I no longer do.

I started riding again after a 30 year absence (I know...what was I thinking) and I wouldn't dream of risking my life or anyone else's for that matter so I wouldn't drink and ride.

We have to realize that once we are on our bikes they become 6-700 lb projectiles and everyone around us is at risk. You may think that drinking and riding is your choice but I won't be riding with you!

It's just not my thing.I got to be sharp when on the bike, but I'm a lightweight so,my best bet is to not have any.

This weekend I went up to my brothers house, its about an hour up the 101.We got there, started watching the game, and BBQing, and I had one.I was also there for about 4 more hours,so it was okay.

I also couldn't ride with someone who was tanked,to dangerous.

Never to do things in moderation, I needed to give up riding or drinking. I chose drinking.

I don't drink beer... I drink liquor. Getting slammed and riding the scoot puts everything and everyone at risk. I have, in the past, had too much to drink and hopped on the scoot. That was stupid and I was lucky. Never went down but did have a scare (with momma on the back). We have since agreed drinking & then riding is a bad idea so we ride 1st then relax at the house or hotel, talk about the ride and have a couple of drinks there.
People that drink and ride in a group scare the hell out of me. I won't ride with them.

I agree with DanTMan. I don't drink and ride, I wear a helmet (my choice), and I don't ride with drunks. I rode with some people last year and, of course, we HAD to stop at every bar! They drank beer and I drank soda. Every place we left, the speeds got a little faster (hm, imagine that). That's when I realized, I'll back off even further. Let them bi^&h at me! But I felt a lot safer. My .02

!!! RIDE SAFE !!!
