Default Rear Crash bar tech help

OK so Im assembling my 80 FLH, it was quite a while ago when I took it apart and I am putting on the rear crash bars and I cant tell if they should bolt up on the inside or outside of the frame and if anything else gets bolted with them. Theres a few different ways it seems like it would work....Seems simple but all the pics I find have pipes and stuff in the way. Hoping some charitable individual could take a close up pic of them and post it or something. Thanks!

FTR shes now 80" with new cylinders, s&s super e, primo enclosed belt primary, barnett clutches, compu-fire elite-1 electronic ignition, bigger exhaust valves and other headwork, cam, and some wrapped drag pipes...think shell run good?

Mine isn't nearby at the moment, but if memory serves.......they go on the outside. If you were running with bag rails, I believe putting them inside would make the rails too close to the bags.

No bags or rails, but I do ride alot on sandy dirt roads, and drop it every now and then so keeping the front and rear bars, everything else is stripped off. Probably half the problem, since Im not putting everything back on its not obvious.

the pipe supports go on the outside of the frame, the crash bars mount to the inside of the frame..with the same bolts
