Default Progressive Shocks

I am sure this has been covered somewhere but I am not having any luck finding it. Does anyone have any experience with progressive shocks on a dyna. Any suggestions?

A friend had some on his Dyna. he is kind of a big guy but they started leaking after a while. He sent them back to be rebuilt and the same happened again. On the other hand my wife has them on her Sportster and I think they are a fine choice as we have had no problems with them. The bike handles the canyon's far better than the stock shocks do. That being said there are better options available as well. It all comes down to how much you are willing to spend as there are shock for any budget.

I had Progressive 812s on my Wide Glide. They looked great with their flame chrome cut outer covers, but honestly, I wasn't impressed with the ride at all. In fact, the stock shocks offered a better ride. I've ridden dirt bikes for years and know a thing or two about setting up suspension. I tried all sorts of settings and never felt comfortable. To be fair, Progressive was very supportive on the phone and even sent me replacement bolt hole caps for free when I porked up the original ones during the install.

If you really want a good ride, Look up Howard at Motorcycle Metal and let him set you up with some Ohlins.

Got a new XL833 Low and almost sold it the first month. The Ride was so hard, my back would hurt for a day after riding. Thanks to PROGRESSIVE SHOCKS MODEL 412, they made the ride perfect ! Why doesn't Harley D wise up and make a softer shock ?

i was going for the slammed look. i have 01 DL and put the 440 11" on mine with the drop-in kit for the front. No probs, but it does ride stiffer. But i was expecting that. I was trying to get 'look' and not 'ride'.
