It was bad enough in the beginning with all the drama between Sr. and Jr. but they made some cool bikes. They're still making some cool bikes but when they started spending half the show on Jr and Mikey's problems, they lost it. (thank god for TIVO, I could skip the crap) If they eliminated the non motorcylce crap and still built bikes it might be worth watching. It will be interesting to see if they can stay in business without the show.
The other guy that helped Sr was Dee, when he left he started Ultimate Cycles which was like 2 miles from the old OCC shop.

Paul Jr. had some talent but some of the things that they used to do to the bikes when they were building them truned me off from watching and then it became all about the drama of the teuttles. I have not watched the show in a long time so I could not say anything about the current and final episodes. They screwed Vinnie over too from what I remember hearing. I hear that they charge for autographs too and to me that is friggin outrageous considering all of the money that they were making already. Greed is the fall of many. At Sturgis I just walked by while hundreds of people waited in line to pay for an autograph or more OCC ****. Unbelieveable!
Most if not all of the parts that they pull off the shelf are there own, when they first started the show they fabed there own frames, handle bars, gas tanks, exhausts, seat pans, risers, fenders, and made up there own wireing harness, most fender struts were one off,as well as floor boards and foor pegs.
After they started there own line of bikes they had there own fabed in house parts mass produced,to speed up build time.
Now that they have there own Haas CNC machine they do one off wheels, sprockets, and other things.
The only thing that they don't build is Engines and Trans,Calipers, master cylinders, and a few other parts!
Always though Paul Sr was a jerk,Vinnie was the man !!
I do watch occasionally just for the bike builds, but the rest of the crap, thank God for a DVR;
Jr. builds a dog park; skip
Jr. names Rachel his Chief of Operations; skip
Mikey goes to Rehab; skip
Mikey wants to sell art; skip
Mikey takes piano lessons; skip
Mikey wants to be a comedian; skip
Sr, most anything outside the bike build; skip
Apparently you missed that they have four or five Haas machining centers and a three axis water jet. They started out buying parts. Now they make everything. Hand grips, foot pegs, rims, pullies, gears, risers, handle bars and more.
They also used to use purchased fenders and tanks. Now, they do their own.
It takes a very skilled craftsman to make a gas tank.
If you saw the episode where they made the wheel chair bike you would have seen the total amount of fabrication they do. That is why the hired an engineer a few years ago to sign off on the drawings.
They may be the only custom builder that can produce all but the the motor and trans. And, they have modified those.

I have a couple of friends that work there...Well one now the other got fired. Anyway, I've been in the back shop area several times and they do have some awesome CNC Machining equipment and do fab allot of the parts they use. But it's hard for me to equate punching some buttons on a machine and then going home and coming back in the morning and pulling the parts out of the machine, with actually designing and building something. Gotta say that everyone I met there was nice and seemed like mostly hard working stand up people.
