You think the length of the Bare Wire is calibrated to the Voltage Reg? Not much space under the seat of a Dyna. If not, I want to cut to the length I need.
No, I don't think the length of the power end of the wire makes any difference. I think I actually read to cut to size. I had room so I just coiled it all up but it was not necessary.
I asked about the wire length because I trimmed the length of a Pyrometer cable once for a diesel engine and it effected the true reading.
The GPS hasn't arrived yet. I have the Ram mount mounted and the power cord is run. I'm waiting for the GPS so I can tie the power cord and take whatever slack, out. I suspect I will have to trim, a Nuvi is a Nuvi, right? I should probably just do it anyway. If yours wasn't fully connecting, mine probably won't either. I'm using the same power cord as you are.

Yes and No . Some Nuvi's connect the power to the cradle, some to the back of the GPS, like mine.
If you already have the Ram cradle, it should be obvious if you are going to have to modify it. If it looks like this photo, start cutting
I did a similar mount several months ago and just to let you know you can buy everything you need...cable, plugs and battery connectors at Radio Shack for under $10.
