As some of you that know us or the ones that have been out to our house that we live in the boonies well..our dogs just came home stinking again and yep they got into it with a skunk and stinkin to high heaven..This is the first time since last fall so Spring must be getting just a little bit closer...A little advice if you or your critters do get sprayed mix Peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap about equal parts and apply with a sponge and rinse. It works very well
Yeah Capt...must be getting close. We live out in the sticks too, and there were three dead skunks in the road in maybe a half-mile stretch this morning near our place.
Speaking of skunks, right after we bought our place, I was down in the basement garage one day and heard something up in the ceiling. I finally saw one of the HVAC flex ducts wiggle, so I picked up a yard stick, tapped the end near the trunk to run whatever it was to the other end, and then pulled the flex free from the trunk. Then I went to the register end, and tapped it with the stick to run it back down to the now open end. When I looked in that end, there was a skunk sitting in there blinking at me. I tapped the open end again, running it back towards the register, and cinched the open end down with some cord to close it off. Then I tapped the register end to run him to the other end, pulled the flex free from the register, and cinched that end with some cord. My son and I worked the length of flex outta the ceiling, gently placed it in the bed of the truck, and drove him farther out into the country and released him. I was really surprised we got outta all that without getting sprayed...guess he was too confined to cut loose with the funk. Got to looking around, and found that the critter guard was messed up on the heat pump unit outside...that's how he got in there. Ahh...good ole country living...keeps life interesting.
