Hi all,
I am heading out to Sturgis for the first time this year.
I'm staying at the Buffalo Chip with another guy who is also a Sturgis virgin.
What events/rides on what days should I make a point to not miss?
I can't tell you the days, but you must see Mount Rushmore, ride the Needles Highway in Custer State Park, and go from Lead to Deadwood. If you have time and the inclination, check out Devil's Tower and the Badlands.
Have a good time, keep your eyes peeled, and prepare for the experience of a Lifetime.......you won't ever forget it!
the buffalo chip has so much going on it will be hard to see everything else. Ride all the good roads (needles, nemo hwy, spearfish canyon, iron mountain road) Crazy horse and Rushmore are cool. Ride through the badlands since you're coming from the east anyway.
What everyone else has mentioned, plus HDForums Mascot run by SpeedsterX will be at Stroker's on Wed the 9th at noon for Biker build-off (w/ Babes and Beer, of course). Great time to meet others on this board.
Just northeast of the Devilâs Tower is the Town of Hulet, WY. Hulet hosts a party on Wednesday. It is affectionately called Naked Wednesday. Town population is 491. On that Wednesday 100,000 are there. All of the towns people sell food and libations from their front yard. Great party.
For rides don't miss these: Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore followed by a ride down the backside on the corkscrew hwy, Crazy Horse, Badlands, many more
I will be there on Wednesday - Look for the tall skinny one 6'5" - that'll be me! We leave from Fort Worth on Saturday Morning the 5th...let me know if you wanna tag along!!!

LoL my boss was telling me about Hulet, something else about a lot of the houses having bands playing. I know when I make my way back out there again I'm definatly stopping there.
Oh yeah, I'd also highly reccomend *avoiding* Wahl (Wall?) Drugs if you're going thru that area. What a waste of freakin space this place is.
Mt. Rushmore is definatly cool and the Badlands are unbeleivable at dusk.
