Bah, just get what you like. My choice happens to be Fox Creek; been using them for years and have a lot of their stuff. Thick, high quality leather, stitching and hardware designed and built right here in the USA to last a lifetime. Now, on the off chance that something goes wrong with your product, FC customer service will quickly and painlessly take care of you. They simply have no peers in the industry. I've seen quite a few jackets after "the big slide", and the FC stuff has consistently performed well.
If you like Langlitz and don't mind paying $1k for a quality jacket -- and it is, then by all means get Langlitz.
No mention of Horsehide, I have a jacket from Legendaryusa and I love it. It was so stiff when i got it but will break in really nice. The construction of it.. I have never seen better. Is built by Schott. here's the link. http://www.legendaryusa.com/Legendar...ket_p/2400.htm
They have some nice jackets on that website. I've looked at it before. I noticed the horsehide leathers have more of a shine to them. Is that how they are, or was it just the way the photo was taken?
I don't think you can beat horse hide, and Legendaryusa has the best prices I've seen. Lost Worlds Inc. does horse hide Buco clones, but they'll set you back $1200 or so. They'll last several life times, so plan on willing it to your kid. I don't have one, but if one of you guys wants to get me one, I'd be happy to strike a pose or two and post it here.
I can't believe the **** I've seen on this thread. Arguing, name calling, arrogance, criticism, snobbery and I'm pretty convinced that if some of these people were sitting in the same room there would be fists flying. And over what....freakin leather jackets! VERY SAD! If this thread is a microcosm of our society, we're all in deep ****.
"My religion is better than your religion." "My party is better than yours." "My views are right, yours are wrong." Sound familiar??? God forbid people make their own choices and form their own opinions without being chastised. Makes you wonder why the world is so FK'd up doesn't it?

Side note: Why does everyone get so shook up over being called a poser? If you have had a lot of time in the saddle- you have probably been called worse (long hair, hippie, trash, biker scum, etc.)
I'm with you zig zag. So many of us have so much in common on this site. This thread has devolved into bickering over who makes the jacket. Really? I'm all for spirited conversation and honest disagreement, but name-calling (poser)? Not me. If you're going to call me a name, call me "Patriot" along with all of the other my fellow brothers in arms on this site that serve now, have served, or support those who serve. The point is, we all have opinions, but we all have quite a bit in common. I'm all for disagreement, but we all have too much in common to finger point (finger paint?). My 0.02.
Langlitz, Fox Creek, just Please wear SOMETHING that gives you a chance when a cage makes you put it down.
I thought this tread was about Langlitz jackets. I have a Langlitz CHP horsehide jacket that's almost 60 years old and is the most awesome jacket I've ever owned! It is my daily wearer. If you pay $1000 for a jacket that will last 3 generations (or more!) that's cheap!
