Someday I'll have to replace my 25 year old Chippewas, with another pair of USA made Chippewas. I'm getting close to getting them re-soled again. Gotta watch out, though, they have a Chinese made lineup now, too.
My next pair will be Chippewas because they are made here in the USA.
I bought a pair of Red Wings because their website talks about the history and tradition and Red Wing, MN, etc. Well, I got them and there is the big label - MADE IN CHINA.
You might take a look at the Wolverine boots....I have extra wide feet and they are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn.....I also have a pair with composite toe which are much lighter than steel toes.....they are not pricey at all.....one site that I have used that has great service.... http://workingperson.com/products/22...FZxS2godrgkqkg
Wolverine and Redwing are both farming production out to china now (at least for some of their boots). I have not heard that about Chippewa until now. Are you sure that's true? Any source for that info?
+1 I don't usually buy a lot of HD stuff, but their "Hawkins" water proof are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn and my feet are in bad shape to begin with.
