I am having the security alarm added to my factory security system that shipped with my new bike. I also decided to add the remote alarm pager as well.
The dealer called me today to tell me the pager I ordered for my EGC will not work with the new automatic FOB arm/disarm factory security system that came on my bike.
He's still working with the manufacturer find out more on it.
Easyglide ,Boy that really bites , here you want to add something and it won`t work .............. hopefully they will find answer so it will work for you . Good Luck , Steve
For what it's worth, I've yet to get my 2 FOBs "assigned" to my Lowrider so in effect, I do not yet have a working security system. And to be honest, that's alright with me. I'm seriously considering going the Lojack route. To me the "self arming" security system was an answer to a question that wasn't asked.
You're saving more than the $80.
I added the siren to the factory silent alarm, and I'm happy with that, butt...
I wanted to keep the remote alarm on my belt for 8 hrs a day while at work. The battery ran out every two weeks, and costs $5. I gave up.
I did not want the FOB automatic arm/disarm feature, but it was factory installed on the bike, so I said what the heck.
Same here. All the '07 models my dealer had scheduled to ship for the next 30-60 days were equipped with the alarm. I didn't want to have to wait to order a bike without one so I too went ahead and accepted it. Who knows? Once I get it working I may like it but I'd still prefer an alarm that will arm if/when I choose to do so.
