To some of you guys that like to rag on HOG members or HOG vest wearers or any such other group of riders who are, in your immodest opinions, somehow beneath you and worthy of ridicule: Why the fvck do you care what anybody else does or wears as long as it doesn't infringe on your right to do/wear whatever the fvck you want?
DISCLAIMER: I am not a HOG member and I don't like vests.
+1!!! Bet it makes quite a few of these riders feel much better about themselves to ridcule others... makes you wonder who the REAL posers are...

So very true...but does ridculing someone for their opinion count as discussing the OP's topic...or just a way of shooting ones mouth off to make themselves feel important by putting someone else down? Trust me I have more then enough reasons for bashing the MoCo as much as anyone else, but it doesnt mean I'm going to jump on the poster... I can understand his feeling of being let down by HD... I can also understand the feelings of other posters telling him to get over it...but I cant understand the posters that fail to give credible advice, but dont think twice about putting the OP down...

Excellent and valid point. At the same time, everyone has different ways in which they express themselves and their opinions. Some do it very eloquently, some very crudely. I'm not saying anyone has to like the latter. I think it is especially true here on HDF, as well as in the biker community in general, as well as other male dominated situations, crude expressions or putting each other down is often done tongue in cheek - some form of humor, however crude it may seem to some. I'm sure some psychologist somewhere has concluded this is a form of bonding among males.
i have known this guy for twenty years from my gym,he has a fatboy and he is a HOG member, we always got on well, never ridden with him,we also muscle car guys,he used to have big block camaro,i still have mine! any way i went into the main stealer in town were hog guys sometimes hang out in there corner lounge set up at shop, i see this guy there, say hi! he ignores me,i say hi again, same thing,im a heart on your sleeve kind of guy and this pisses me off,he is there with his crusty ol HOG mates,so i just bowl up and start talking to him, he manouvres me over to the new muscle and slowly starts becoming himself again,i was pissed off when i left, who do these crusty ol 1% wannabes think they are, i could peel em all back with one arm tied!bikers who clock up 200 miles a year, and the stealers always inviting me to join!! no thanks
The comments of this thread have me rolling because I've been involved enough as I am sure many of you have to appreciate the insight and value of the "advice". I did my stint with HOG when I purchased my first Harley and I even got involved with at the officer level within the local Chapter. I will admit that I met a great many good folks this way and established some lasting friendships. Along the way though I also gained some insight about much of what is being commented about here regarding the dealership, the motor company and politics of some of the HOG Brethren. The Dealership and the MOCO is loyal only unto themselves and to the all mighty dollar. Our particular dealer has even made decisions on HOG membership and management based upon how much business an individual provides to his establishment (this he shared with me firsthand). When the officer ranks started to become infiltrated with a bunch of hypocrites who knew seemingly less about motorcycling than about kissing the A$$ of our Dealer it was time for me to get out with my buddies and conduct our own rides as many have mentioned here.
