Or they figure out that the gravel is coming from you, they get pi**ed and run you off the road or pull a gun or some other nasty response. I'd just move over and let the a**hole go by, with a few well chosen words mutterd inside my helmet

Sounds like a great idea (have had that problem with tailgaters myself many times, and it angers me, too) but it also is a volatile practice. It might get them off your tail, but when they swerve into another lane and take out a car filled with an innocent family...What say ye, then?

When I was 18, my brother and me were riding, and a cage came up real close. We pulled into formation to let him by, but for some reason he hated bikes, and tried to run my brother off the road. When John got out of the dirt he screamed ahead and kicked the crap out of his door, cage swerves, and John goes into the oncoming lane. John goes back at him and kicks his mirror off, and we scream by and think it's over. Well, a mile later we stop, and try to get it together and the goof pulls over and jumps out and proceeds to punch my brother like crazy, John takes the shots and says, stop, or I'll have to beat you. At this time about 10 cars pull in and they are all fliping on the cage driver for trying to kill the biker. The cage drivers wife is yelling at her husband to calm down, but he continues to swing. John hit's him a few times, but buddy keeps coming back. After about 20 punches taken, John smacked him in the head with his helmut. Cage driver goes down. blood everywhere, ears, nose. it was bad.

My brother was not charged because of the witnesses, but it could have turned out many other terrible ways.

For me, it taught me to be a docile rider. Fight in a bar not on the road.

Not to condone this or anything but I used to have a buddy (moved to FL) who would carry some paint ***** in a baggie in his jacket pocket for just such occasions.

Flipping them covertly may not get them off your tail but once you let them pass and laugh at the big splotch on their hood or windshield I am told you just feel better inside. Saw him do it a couple times. Pretty pricelss.

A buddy of mine said he used to carry a container of BB's with him. Said they do a number on the windshield and paint.

Sorry not my style. I for one am not going to lower myself to their standards by possibly damaging their property. I will let them around me by switching lanes or leaving them in the wind. Just me.

I've thought about it, but never have. I did have a college aged girl in a convertible flick a cigarette on me one time. It hit my arm and actually burnt me pretty good. Of course she had a phone glued to her ear, so she was none the wiser. She slowed down, so I went around her. I really hate that I didn't see her right on my *** when I spit that mouthful of tobacco juice all over her windshield. I guess Skoal really isn't a safe alternative to smoking.
