I usually check for nasty stuff when I get home and will clean those areas immediately. Otherwise, I mostly just give it a good wipe down and clean the bugs off. I've fully detailed it completely twice in 3 1/2 months.
Hubby on the other hand has no idea what a sponge and hose look like. I think he's cleaned his once in a year and that was only because I refused to ride with him.....sigh.
I rarely wash it, I would rather ride it. Sometimes I'll wash it before going to a car show or bike show where lots of folks'll be looking at it.
Once a year, I completely detail it. Makes it nice and shiny and gives me a glimpse at stuff I don't normally look at.
Here's a photo of last year's "wash day"; I washed and waxed both bikes, the trailer, both vehicles, and the tractor! (whew!!!!) Ok, I didn't wax the tractor....
