Ok, so it's still about three months away. Sorry! I'm tired of this crappy weather and having to cancel my plan for bike week has me in a funk. So, who's going to Rolling Thunder and where are you staying? Me, I'm going with a bunch of folks and staying at a Days Inn in Alexandria, VA. I can't wait! It's going to be the longest ride yet for me from NJ on my Iron. Thinking about getting a tombstone shield and already picked up some rain gear and a bubble shield for my 3/4 helmet just in case. Going nuts here without being able to ride this winter!
Our group from jersey goes every year. We'll be staying at the same hotel as your group. I hope I can afford to make it this year if so, I'll see ya by the pool.,,
Rolling Thunder weekend is one of the best rides around, You have to ride in the parade from the Pentagon through Washington and see all the people lining the streets, it has to be one of the best rushes I've ever had.
Big Cahuna, look forward to seeing you there. Hope you can come up with the funds! I'll be splitting a room so I can afford it. We'll be leaving Friday and riding down 70 to 295, eventually ending up on 301? to 50 I believe. This is my first year but others in our group have gone for many years.
NJdiver, can't wait to do the parade. I hear that it is amazing and that there are an unreal amount of bikes there. Going to be great to finally do a longer ride and get away for a few days. Everyone ride safe!
Also from NJ - we usually go on Sat am and stay at the same place-been to every Rolling Thunder but 3-missed (1,2,18 )-Bring Rain gear and some cold riding gear-always seems to be rainy and cold one of the days
-one year we went- it was sunny and 90 on Sat-40 and raining on Mon.
we will be coming out of WV, stay the night in Frederick Md and go into DC. Last year it was HOT so bring lots of water the lines selling water are long.
Thanks for the tips on cold weather gear and water. Don't want to be frozen on the way home or dehydrated during the ride. Hopefully I'll be able to meet up with some of you guys staying at the hotel. I'll be on a silver Iron with black V&H pipes and some mini apes. Guess I'll put the front fender back on for the ride. LOL
