The simple question is, Is it cool to sport Harley gear ie: bennies, shirts, patches, if you ride a metric bike and when you went looking for a bike You didnt want a Harley because you thought they were to mainstream.
I have a friend that sold his sport bike for a cruiser, and he wanted me to help him find a bike. I pulled up many Harleys for great prices (in his price range) and he didnt even want to look at them or consider them becuase he (Didnt want to be an other Harley). So he dropped 9600 on a 09 Valcann 900 and has put $1500-$2000 in to it trying to make it the way he wants. The funny thing is he rode one of my friends Harleys (Night train) and fell in love with it and now is trying to get his bike like that one.. This whole time I am like why didnt you get a Harley then. Why did you write them off.
Now at bike shows and rally's he sports all this Harley gear and people walk up to him asking him what Harley he has and he says I have a 900 Vulcan. Am I an *** for being anoyed with him for wearing the HD gear and kinda posing like he has one untill someone asks what he has.
No - tell him to take it off until he can back it up with an HD!!
I mean really - Do you see me running around with Vulcan gear everywhere to appear like I have one? NOOOO. It is NOT right.
Back in our wilder days, there was a guy in a bar that had a shirt from a dealer that no one liked. He didn't have a bike. We told him the shirt was a no-no. He wanted to fit in and asked us what he should do. So we cut the dealer's name out of the back of the shirt with a Buck knife and threw it in the urinal. He walked around in that bar all night with a big hole in the back of that shirt.
i got my first bike last year, late bloomer i guess, and i always wanted to wear the harley t shirts or harley hat, but never would just because i was afraid someone would ask me what bike i rode
Harley loves selling their clothing line, just like any other brand. Who cares what he wears, no different than if he wore a Steelers shirt and never watched a game. I know alot of non riders you wear Harley stuff because they like the designs.
