Any body thats on a bike and running red lights is a complete idiot. Just remember when someone hits you and your laying on the street, You where asking for it. I'm not saying you deserve it but if your gonna pull stunts like that your asking to go down. Doing stuff like that is like starting a fight with someone that has a baseball bat in their hands and you aint got ****. Just plain stupid in my opinion. Sorry just my .02
If you are doing this just so you can run a light that won't change because the bike isn't heavy enough to trip sensors and you are tried of waiting, which is what I think your are saying you did this for, You do know that Red Light cameras only snap pics for the first few seconds after the light originally changes to red right? It doesn't continue the entire time the light is red.....LMAO.
Two things:
The lights are NOT tripped by weight. They are tripped by either capacitance loops or inductance loops buried in the road. Drop your kickstand on the line in the lane and you will trip the bloddy light.
Many red light cameras are multiple cameras in the housing. One is a hi res digital that takes the pictures on the flashes. The other is an HD video camera that is running at all times. It will have your plate while you are sitting waiting and deciding to drop your plate to run the light. The video camera is used for enforcement checking of the other camera to make sure it is a licit citation.
I got flashed by one on a right turn and sent the ticket. I subpoenaed the video footage and proved that I stopped fully before turning right and the ticket ($225 and 1 day defensive driving school $260 mandatory) was tossed.
a clear piece of levan/plexi over the plate then go to your loca lsign shop and get some clear "reflective" vinyl, its clear but once a light source hits it* head lights, camera flash etc* it flares and blures the plate enough to be illegiable *doesnt work as goord with personalized plates as letters in sequence are easier to read blured then a random sequence of numbers* should work in the case of video recordign as well as the headlights of the vehicle behind you would also act as a bluring effect during recording
damn...there was a spray you could buy...can't remember what it was called that made the plate whiteout during the flash...not even sure you can still get it.
supposedly, pending legislation in CA to ban this stuff (so, probably works )
