I don't think the OP is talking about running through red lights in busy intersections; it's those red lights when you stop and .... wait and ... wait and the friggin' thing never changes to green (with absolutely no cross traffic)! I've waited a looong time for more vehicles to reach the intersection so the dang thing will change. I've also dropped my stand, gotten off, walked over to the corner, hit the pedestrian xwalk button, climbed back on, raised my stand and the light changed. It was a bit of a PIA!
I've considered making sure there is no approaching traffic or LEO's and running the damb thing but I haven't because of the cameras.
Johnny is just trying to help other riders who get frustrated in these situations.
Two things:
The lights are NOT tripped by weight. They are tripped by either capacitance loops or inductance loops buried in the road. Drop your kickstand on the line in the lane and you will trip the bloddy light.
Where can you see the wires after they asphalt over them? Only new ones can u see the wires.
