there's small black star looking screw under your throttle between your throttle and idle cables. Its your throttle adjust screw, just tighten it up some till it's not so sloppy, but not to tight it will lock your throttle.
Exactly......and for junkheads remedy using the star wheel for adjustment, no way, not even close. It is used for warming up carbed bikes or it can be modified for a cruise control (throttle lock lever, cruise buddy, etc.). It will tighten up a sloppy throttle but it's not the way to do it. Adjust the idle cables! I've modified mine on both bikes so I can rest my right hand when needed or for a quick mirror adjustment without loosing speed. The cruise buddy is excellent. The throttle lock lever is cheap if it works. It was fine on my 06 but did not have enough range on the 09.
As helpful as this forum is, some advice may be detrimental to your health. If you purchase a manual for your scoot. It has a section that covers the throttle adjustment procedure. very simple.
Wow, whole lot of trashin on Junk here for his comment on the star screw. I think the OP gets it, and maybe thats what Junk does to get rid of his throttle play. Lets cut Junk some slack, not everyone approaches things the same way...just sayin. I aggree with simply changing the throttle tension on both pull and return cables, done it many times for many handle bar swap outs.
Use he adjusters on the throttle cables...make sure throttle does not bind when twisted and when handle bars are in full turn lock positions (left and right)..I like to keep at least an 1/8" free play..this is a small to make sure any small hand movement on your part does not twist the throttle.
Like dr v/twin said, its in the cable adjustment, my 2ND hand bike was like that when I bought it, & I adjusted them, the star shaped throttle screw under the grip is NOT for this.......
