foward control ext Q
I recently installed 2" forward control extensions on my NT. I used the kit from Cycle Visions. It's a well designed and finished product, but plan on replacing most of the hardware (the 3 counter-sunk allens were nice stainless steel, but the rest was zinc or cadmium plated hex bolts).The kit includes a longer shift rod, but I opted for a better look, and discovered that the Harley shift rods intended for Dynas with forwards are a perfect fit for Softails with extended forwards. You'll also need to replace the rear brake line and banjo bolt gaskets, and then bleed the rear brake, but that's easy.
Shift rods aren't that much unless you opt for something really trick. No matter though, since the Cycle Visions and Ness kits come with longer shift rods. You'd better price out the cost of a replacement rear brake line though.
