I seen this in the Videos Gas, Oil and Rubber. With this you can get smoke then Fire. Be safe Everytime I try to do burnout I do a wheelie and every time I try to do a wheelie I do a burn out.

On the HD I lay a patch taking off but not stand still smoking - I do that with the Vmax but just have to roll on to it. At 200 a pop I don't do many. Unless you got a Vrod I would not put your bike thru the punishment. Here is a Iron Horse pix of a guy in the pit on a very light bike.

Get your weight off the seat. With your weight on the rear tire it'll just wanna grab, not spin. A few extra psi int he rear tire helps too. I don't do 'em on my Shovel since it's an open belt drive and foot clutch, too much possibility to get my leg caught up. But on my Twinkie I can light 'er up any time I like, rolling at 15mph, rev it up and dump it in 2nd, fether the front brake and I got a nice rollin' burnout goin'.

On your Ironhead it may be a little more difficult as it's not churning a bunch of torque. Just put it in 2nd, get up off the seat, hold the bike with your legs, rev it up and drop the hammer. If it's pushing the tire you just aren't revving it up high enough and not dumping the clutch fast enough. You gotta shock the tire loose otherwise it'll want to grab traction. After it's spinning good you should be able to seat on the seat gently and start shiftin'.

I learned a little trick that helps when we had the World Record Burn Out at Smokey Mountain Harley Davidson. The Guys from the stunt team gave us a trick that has worked for me every time. It takes a little coordination and practice but allows you to do a burnout withou just revving ***** to the wall. hold the brake and start throttling up a little. Let the clutch out just a tad and pull on the front brake. When you see the front end dive, pull in the clutch, hit the gas and drop the clutch. It has to be done fast almost like a double clutch move. Once the front end dives it throws the weight forward enough to allow the rear tire to break free easy. Add a little water and you can smoke it in a few seconds. Give it a try and don't forget to hammer the gas when you pop the clutch for the second time.

Just an old mans thinking.
I must just be to old to understand why anyone would want to do something to their bike that could mess it up, just to make some smoke.

I seen a several dude do it, just
Burnouts has got to be hard on almost everything. Clutch, tranny, belts, spokes(if U got-em) and motors.

Even when I was younger, I didn't like to dump the clutch in my cars either. Cost me a bunch one time doing that. Never did it again.

On the B motors I would not do one, I read doing burnouts where the motor is stopped suddenly at the end of one by pulling the clutch in is really, really, bad for the crank on the b motor.. Like, 6000 to 0 rpm in a snap, because the crank balancers don't like that action....

Pulling the clutch in at the end of a burnout would not cause the rpms to instantly drop to nil. You pull the clutch in and let off the throttle at the same time to bring the motor speed down comfortably. You just take the load off.
