I've never cleaned any leather jacket. Now I'm going to be looking at them and 2nd gussing myself. You guys are giving me a damn complex.

I clean and condition mine maintain the weather proofing.

I use snow seal or the langlitz dressing.

The worst thing that can happen to leather (other than getting ripped up sliding down the highway) is for it to lose it's natural oils and dry up. This happens primarily from being cleaned. No soap, including saddle soap, is good for a leather jacket. Wipe it off with plain lukewarm water and wipe it dry with a clean towel. If it starts looking dried out from the sun after several years then a good leather oil won't hurt. Not sure about Syn3, Mobil 1, Amzoil, and the like.
