Will a fairly new battery (5 Months) which ran down after leaving my GPS on re-charge itself , come back to life?? Seems like it did. After a day of not starting, going to HD getting a new battery and before installing the new one tried the ignition, everything came on and low and behold IT STARTED.
I had to use a jump start yesterday morning to get going, it was dead, when I rode for a little while the Volt gauge seemed like it was going nuts from14 to 2 back to 10 down to 4 up to 14, Crazy ??? Thats why I hate electrical issues, give me nuts and bolts!!!!!!! Help any ideas????
There is a chance the battery would be OK. But I would be concerned with your volt meter jumping around like it is.....could be a shorted cell. Have it checked or check it out yourself before it screws up your charging system. Put the battery on a nice slow charge and then check the volts of each cell if possible. If it's a sealed battery check the overall voltage and put a load test on the battery. If it does OK with the load / cell test should be OK.
Thanx to all for the speedy reply- I just checked Volts while doing a thunder max auto tune read- Volts were showing 13.2 13.5 so I guess it working- I check volt gauge under load going down the road!!!!!!!!!!!!
