Those are the kind of adds we dream about when we're bike shopping. Looks like somebody's going to get a great deal. Adds like that only appear after I buy...Go figure
And then he says "Current retail book is this. Kelly Blue Book says $11,710. NADA says $10,410. I want $15,500 obo for my Deuce and that price is firm."
obo and price is firm WTF? Is this guy on some funny pills?
Why does this come as a surprise to anyone. It's been done for ever, cars, boats, bikes whatever. I've see people buy certain models and store them away for a future unveiling, maybe for their kids or themselves. I wish when I bought my first Ariel Square 4, I would have salted it away and uncreated it today. Think if the fun that would be.
Well, seems like a waste of a perfectly good bike. Buying the ultimate touring motorcycle and then put 70 miles on it in 6 years. Some people just have too much money on their hands.
Had to add my .02..it's like anything you sell put a price on it and someone will bite,If I were to sell my Deuce I would ask 14-15 for it,and I have 20k on it,but thats what the # would be,is it worth it..to someone
What does it matter to you and everyone else if he rides 1 mile or 100,000 miles on his bike?
I don't see how having only ridden 69 miles makes him a stupid fvck...
I agree.
I bought mine when it was a 2 years old with 500 miles on it. This guy purchased it new (05 springer classic) and had never ridden that big of a motorcycle. He passed his motorcycle safety class on a honda 250.
He bought this particular bike because his deceased father had once owned a knucklehead springer, he had pics with his father on one. Well this nostalgic purchase did not work out,it was much more motorcycle than he could handle.
This guy was in tears when I drove off.
I felt bad, until i turned the corner.
He called me 6 months later and had purchased a sporty and was driving it daily with the goal of purchasing a springer in a year.

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
In Nov08 I was browsing through craigslist and came across an 04 nightrain with 1700 miles on it. The guy wanted $16,500 for it. I thought that was way too much. I came across it a month later for the same price but since he was real close to me I looked it up in KBB and retail was $12,400. I went over and looked at it. Guy was real wealthy, owned a big engineering company in LA. He bought the bike because his friends were buying harleys. He had chrome fork lowers, pulley and levers put on, paid $22,000 cash, rode it 1000 miles, had the service done, rode it another 700 miles and it had been sitting under a cover next to his two mercerdes for 4 years. It looked like a brand new bike sitting on the showroom floor.
I told him what blue book was and he just said give me $12,000 so I can get it out of my garage. I thought that was a pretty good price and now it is in my garage.
