If you had the chance to sit down and talk with anybody at all connected with motorcycles or motorcycling such as Willie G., Peter Fonda, Sonny Barger or Gumby, who would it be and why?
Have talked to Willie G a little,he is a busy cat.A lot of my friends are as much into Harleys as I am,the conversation is always riveting.
As far as famous people Jay Leno.
I sat next to Bill Tuman during the TT races in Springfield a couple years ago. Was nice meeting and talking to him. He showed me pictures of a couple of the bikes he has.
that lad that ran the salt flats on the world's fastest indian.
the name escapes me now, but it was made into a movie with a famous actor whose name escapes me too. ha, the joys of auld age!
A few years ago I was at a model airplane contest in Tucson AZ. Got to talking with one of the flyers who was a Nationals winner some years ago. He was a retired engineer from Harley, and told me how he and Willie G were good friends in highschool, and rode together. After college, he went to work for Harley. Before he retired, he was instumental in the development of the "V" ROD. Very nice fellow, and very interesting to talk with. As a side note; A lot of modelers ride bikes and play guitars. Especially, control line fliers.
A couple of years after I did his driveway for him I was called back to replace part of it where a roofers truck had cracked it. He said just take care of it Im going to Costa Rica to catch another record Permit. But before he left he told me the story of how his wife was in the sidecar when it came unhooked and she went one way while he went the other. Ill never forget that guy.
Okay! 2nd choice - Bill Tuman he's 97 and still kicking. I bought a lot of bikes from him in the 60' and 70's.
One of the original Wrecking Crew from the Indian racing team from the Sturgis Indian dealer. He is in the Motorcycle hall of fame. A great racer, motorcycle dealer and human being.
