How do you interpret this?
not that it makes much difference anyway
Amazing tho, is that if I/We don't agree with their opinion, I/We Trash their point of view.
Folks, it works BOTH ways. I like ALL bikes, some more than others, but, it's the ride that counts.
But, to attack the riders of those bikes seems low and underhanded IMHO.
A quick rule of thumb about British motorcycle journalists - unless it's Japanese, German or Italian and does 180 m.p.h. then they are not interested. Their opinions are therefore not worth consideration on a forum of mature adults (or even this one
). I have no idea why this should be, maybe H-D don't pay enough in journalists' 'expenses'.
If it wasn't for the recalls, I would have probably kept it and bought the Harley anyway.
Tis true there are more folks anti-Harley in the UK than pro them - however, and here's the interesting thing, of those that have nothing positive to say about HD bikes, riders, etc, hardly any of them have ever ridden one! Everybody over here (well it seems like everybody) likes riding plastic bikes from Japan - you know, 150bhp, 180+mph, 80% depreciation in 3-years!
Me, I only learned to ride a couple of years ago - I took my training and test at Rider's Edge in Wales and there was only ever going to be one bike I bought - a HD of course! I've ridden a Sportie for 2 years now and have a new '07 Heritage on order. Sure, I've looked at other bikes, but none of them did 'IT' like a Harley.
Just my thoughts - you know, each to their own, but I'm Harley through and through!

People in general are a bit quick to criticize on just about every issue that comes up. We seem to be good at that. Check out some of our comments on threads about foreign bikes.
On the subject of touring, I have ridden some of the roads in Europe and they demand some pretty skilled riding to negotiate some of the roads.
While in the US Army stationed in Germany I bought a new 1967 Triumph Bonneville and rode it from Bremerhaven to Darmstadt Germany. Most of it was on the Autobahn but some of it was on the very challenging German country roads. If you haven't been on the same roads with the German drivers, you don't know what you've missed.
Not to say that the USA does have some challenging roads but, I guess it really boils down to individual opinions as to what touring really is.
