Finally got my new bars installed last Friday. 16" kit from Hill Country Customs. This is a great kit! A little pricey but well worth it in my opinion. Me and a buddy installed them in less than 4 hours. Unplugged the old ones and plugged the new ones in. Longest part was bleeding the front brakes. Came with all the chrome controls and braided lines. I think they are awesome. Good quality and sweet looks.
Here are some not so good pics from my blackberry.
Found HCC pricey? Bought one of their 16" set-ups for my Dyna and was by far the least expensive. Even cheaper than I could have gotten going through the dealership with my employee discount.
RK with apes are badass. Looks great. You can't really beat the HCC pricing on their kits. Price it all out individually and it gets a lot more costly.
When did you order yours? I ordered a complete kit like yours back in Mid March and they're still telling me to wait. I hear great things about their items but, I'm not very happy about their service.

Actually, I saved $250 by getting all the parts myself instead of one of their plug and play packages. If you have dual front brakes and clutch safety switch, it is alot more money. Oh.....cruise.....that is more also. I also found the website to be off from the phone quote by a lot.
Your bike looks great with the apes! How do they feel?
Thanks everyone for the compliments. I love the way the bike rides with these bars. Seems like I have better control of the bike for some reason and they are more comfortable than stock. I was getting lower back pain with the stock bars from leaning too far forward I think. About HCC being pricey, it was only a little more for the whole kit than if I would have parted it out but only by a $100 or so and WELL worth it. I guess pricey wasn't the word I was looking for. Maybe...unexpected. The cruise control adds quite a bit to the price. MUCH MUCH cheaper than a dealer purchase/install lol.
The windshield will fit if you pull the bars back far enough. My shield fits but its a little snug against the bars. Ok with me since I dont really use it. If you like you could pull the bars back about an inch more than mine and use it. The part number for HCC is AHP-A07 for 07 and later baggers. With cruise and dual discs it was $930 delivered to NM from TX.
I ordered them March 9, and recieved on April 1.
I want to find different mirrors but I like the stock because they work and I can see good with them, but I agree they throw the set up off a little. Yeah the service is definately not great at HCC. I finally convinced myself they are busy because they are good. When I got the set up it was worth the wait and dealing with them.
i got 16's from them. they arrived when they said they would unharmed. they actually wrapped the hell out of them. i think it took 1/2 hr to get them unwrapped.
i was calling them to order 1" bars but the guy i talked to said they would look horrible and i would like 1 1/4 much better. i didn't find 1 1/4 on their site so i was settling for 1". he pointed me in the right direction and took my order. i was happy with the customer service. i called really early though, maybe they weren't busy yet. i think i paid a little over $700. the are for a '99 RK.
