Sir, you ask why, because the boys in the wars used them the cops used them and they are built in the US,IM taller then 61 one way more then two twenty and when I streah out for the controls they are where they should be, I have ridden closing on 70,000 mile and all in comfort on a machine built for me by guys like me...you really cant ask for more.
Harley-Davidson is an iconic American brand. As for the heavy cruiser market, Harley can't be beat as far as workmanship, dealer network, accessories, and of course the Harley sound. With Harley, you don't just get a motorcycle, but you sort of get an admission ticket to a different lifestyle. That's why so many white collar guys buy them as well. Sit in an office all week with a shirt and tie and on the weekend, you get to be something different...something exciting.
I've owned plenty of Japanese bikes and Harley is just as reliable and is superior in fit and finish. Owners talk of Harley's having a soul. As strange as that sounds, I agree with the personification. Of all the bikes I've owned, I've never felt attached to any of them except my Harley.
Not only is a Harley the best all around retro styled bike with the best sound and dealer/part support but I just need people to ask me .............why.......

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
I like the way they're built, I like the way they sound. They look good to me. I like the fact that I can still get parts right off the shelf for my 21 year old bike without special ordering stuff. I do 99% of my own work (and maintain a lot of friends Harleys), I like the quality of their gaskets, brackets, bearings....etc, It's not like that cheap **** pot metal the import bikes use to build everything with. I like the fact that the engine is there proudly for everyone to see, not an engine with crap castings covered up with a bunch of plastic and cheesy looking graphics.
