I have a pair of these. I have had them since I was in the Navy. You can ware them all day and there as comfortable as tennis shoes. http://belleville-boots.com/flight.htm
I realize this thread is getting kinda long and admit i didn't read through all the responses. However, i wanted to add my opinion on the subject. I have a pair of Red Wing boots that are the most comfortable boots i've ever owned. I wear them all the time. I've had them 4 years and already replaced the heels twice...that's how much they get used.
Just got two pair of Cruiser Boots' Commandos for $100! Cara is a sweetheart and I'm thrilled with this deal. BTW, they have been really struggling thru the hard times, and I encourage y'all to support a company that is shifting to Made in the USA. Will report back on the walk-around comfort.
Wanting to pick up some new motorcycle boots, but I'm concerned that I'm gonna get stuck with something uncomfortable. I've been leaning towards the Ariat Carbide H2O boot, but am open to suggestions.
Basically I want a pair of boots that I can ride and walk in - all day boots.
I do a lot of hiking and backpacking, and lead public hikes on weekends. I get asked about boots all the time.
It's a fact that everyone's feet are different. What I think is a great, comfortable boot may have you blistered in a couple miles. The ONLY way to buy boots is to go try them on. Find a good store that does real fitting (taking measurements of your feet while you are sitting and standing). Then, you'll know exactly what size and width you need.
Armed with that info, go and try different boots on to see what fits you, and what is comfortable to you.
Zappos has an excellent return policy (365 days, they pay shipping both ways) if you decide to buy without trying them on.
