I posted this on another thread but it applies here:
I really have no comment as to that make/style of riding boot but I'd feel bad if I didn't point you to Chippewa Boots. I have a pair of 12" Rally (#27862). I bought them in 2000 and they are still like brand new. I was in the army (back when they had black boots) I use the 'ole KIWI polish on them regularly to keep them looking good. I've put over 80,000 miles on my bike, been to Sturgis 8 times, BBB in Arkansas, Sturgis on the River, The ROT Rally in TX etc...etc....And I can tell you without reservation that these boots will provide you with at least 10 years of use. Mine have NEVER been re-soled (even though they can be) and still have plenty of wear on the Vibram sole. They aren't water proof but I suppose you could give them MINK OIL treatment. They are as comfortable to walk in as any shoes I own. I wear Cowboy boots everyday and I wear my Chippewa's everywhere else except for the few times I wear my tennis shoes. Do yourself a favor and check 'em out. FYI..They're made in the USA too!!!!

just wanted to add...

I received my Chippewa 97868's today...

http://americanmadeworkboots.com/chippewa97868.html

They had 9.5 in stock, 10's are what I wanted but they won't be there till May. Read some reviews saying that they fit a little big... so I decided to go with them.

Right out of the box, they are extremely comfortable. They are a little snug though (was wearing kinda thick socks). I can only assume as the leather is broken in, the fit will loosen up a tad. I'm extremely pleased with them. They are gorgeous. Some random chick pulled along side me at a red light and complimented me on them lol. "Hot boots....", and with a wink and a smile, she was gone. lol

Will update impressions after I've had some more time in them.

I worked with fire and EMS for 10 years. The required boots were Redwing 4473. They are waterproof and have a zipper you install in the front to adjust to your foot. They were so comfortable I bought another pair years after I left the fire department. They are also a bit pricey, steel toe and shank, but my first pair lasted 15 years.
