who are you trying to convince yourselves?
Can't take even a little criticism? is it because you know you got ripped off by buying an overpriced over weight under powered poorly designed and built pos that you need to lash out at others?
I've had and raced Suzuki's xc for years with no problems.
I get a Harley it goes 73mi 1 day and breaks down 5 days at a dealer it goes 70 mi 1 more day and breaks down AGAIN
it gets wet and the gages fill with water
it leaks exhaust and oil and it's not a year old
THE DEALER AND THE MO CO DOESN'T CARE
THEY HAVE UNTIL THE 23RD TO FIX THE BIKE OR THEY HAVE TO REFUND MY MONEY ALL OF IT BUT $12.00
YOU CAN ATTACK ME ALL YOU LIKE JUST PROVES YOU IGNORANCE
TAKE THIS AS A WARNING IF YOUR THINKING OF YOU FIRST HARLEY DON'T DO IT! THE BIKES SUCK AND AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE POSTS ABOVE THEIR OWNERS DON'T SEEM TO BE THE NICEST PEOPLE

I want to apologize to Harley owners about my last post I let a couple fools goad me into sinking to their level
I know many good people who own Harley's
truth is I just expect more for my $ than the moco can deliverer

But IMO, there is always the inherent risk in first year designs. I've had a few cars like that: loved the new design and had to have it - all were problems. My last new car purchase was a model that had been out for years and all the bugs were worked out. I might not be as cutting edge as I used to, but I have a lot less problems.
The rest of the Sporty lineup is essentially the same components and are pretty well sorted. The XR has the most significant changes so kinda doesn't surprise me. Still sucks though. Nobody should have to go through that.

Sorry to hear about your problems with that bike. If you're that pissed off then I don't blame you for changing brands.
As for myself, I can't see riding anything but a Harley.

FYI the xr is NOT a first year model it has been in Europe for 2 years
the xr is supposed to attract new buyers like me who have always ridden JAP( thats for you racists out there) they failed miserably we want reliability and performance that Harley cant provide
The only one who could have saved them they stabbed in the back (sorry Eric)
the air cooled engine is doomed there is no way they can pass the EPA regs that are coming (ever wonder why your bike runs so lean?)
