I have two. A sixsixone core cooler and some other brand that I bought at Cycle Gear. I like the core cooler the best. However, they only work well in low humidity. In the southeast, it just feels like your wearing a wet blanket and doesn't help with cooling. In the southwest, you can feel the cooling effects. JMO.
I used one on trip last summer to the SW in Arizona,CA, Nevada and Utah . They were a god send it was 112 in Vegas but like others have said it's a dry heat. They don't work as well in high humidity.
They remove heat from your body by evaporating the moisture in the vest,in high humidty you don't get as much evaporation so they don't work as well.

I have one and use it for long road trips. I live in South TX and regularly visit my folks in Tucson. The vest is a life-saver. I keep a plastic trash bag with me and buy two 2 liter bottles of water at each gas stop: One bottle to drink and the other to re-soak the vest in the trash bag. Almost forgot, mine has sleeves that can be zipped off.
Bought one about five years ago for use in north Texas.
Tried it for three or four rides, but it justs makes you hot and clammy instead of just hot.
Too humid for use here. It'll be too humid for use in Arkansas.
Been hanging in the closet for five years. Money wasted.
One thing I use that really helps, is a neckerchief with those moisture beads sewn in. You soak it good, then tie it around your neck. A lot of body heat exits the neck and head. I also use a Levi jacket buttoned at the waist or my Harley mesh jacket. The more air, even in humid air, the better.

Went to a PGR funeral in Red Bluff Calif in 06.. Think it was July or Aug during a record heat wave. Got down there ok, but after standing at the funeral for a while was not doing so good. Then tried riding home to Oregon. Got part way up I-5 and stoped for fuel.
CHP stopped at the same place, took one look at me and told me to stay their for a while( Place had tables inside and good AC) Kept drinking water till I had to go Pee, that took a while.
But I bought one of those Bead filled Bandanas. That got me home. Every rest stop I pulled in and soaked it again.
Now I have a vest but have not been on any runs where I would need it.

Well this is good to know now that I bought it. I live in as humid as it gets Louisiana so I guess mine will go on ebay if it isn't going to work. Stealer was pushing it hard on me too.
With summer coming on and the humidity in Arkansas is awful, I am looking at cooling vests. Anybody use 'em and what do you think.
I saw one in the dealership yesterday.....right on the tag it says only good for 50 uses..after that I guess the "cooling" doesn't work anymore and it becomes a regular vest
