Default Blue Book Value?

Thinking about getting a new scoot. Had two new HD's, loved 'em, but thinking about a custom.

This builder is very well known in the industry for high-end bikes, and I found a 2004 with less than 1000 miles. Originally sold for about $55000. I may be able to pick it up for around $20000--- appears to be pristine.

Problem is----> my credit union always needs to see the book value to lend on a bike.

This builder is not listed in the 'books'.

Am I out of luck, or is there a 'work-around'?

there are prof, appraisers used all the time for giving value to cars boats cycles ect, ins co. use them so do banks dealing in custom and vintage vehicles for example i have a 05 wideglide book prob 7500 but i have it insured for 25,000, had it appraised because of all eng workd and chrome ect, they took a prof appraiser do your do dilagence and find paper work to what it sold for new and what custom bikes are going for ect its easier than you think

Thanks for the link. That is a really fine motorcycle. I like what he did to the front end.

If it does not have a blue book value walk away...you will have the same problem when you insure it. In today's market it ain't worth 20 anyway.

ok, that's a pretty bold statement--- you must know something I don't, which is not surprising--

This builder's bikes routinely sell $30+ for used, so I'll bite, why do you think the bike cannot be worth $20,000 with less than 1000 miles?
