I thought the OEM battery was gel filled. I've called 3 different dealers in my area this morning and they all quoted $150.00. Thanks for the repies.

My 99 RK had the original battery in it when it crapped out in Gettysburg a few years ago. My own fault However, I also kept a battery tender on it and it showed no signs of getting weak. I had come back to the hotel mid afternoon, I shut the bike off (with the "Stop" switch as opposed to the ign switch) and started talking to a guy in the parking lot. I lost track of what I was doing and walked back to the room. About an hour later I was starting to think I never did lock the bike. Went back out and found that I also left the ignition switch in the On position. Battery was stone dead. The hotel maintenance guy jumped the bike with his truck and I went out for a 2 hour rideto try and recharge it. Got back to the hotel, shut the bike off and turned it right back on to test the battery. Dead as could be, not even a hint of voltage looking at the headlight filament. My new battery from the dealer there in Gettysburg was $180.

I got a Deka battery for my 2000 FLSTC at my local NAPA auto parts store. $92.00 w/tax.

The battery on my '02 Ultra is the one that it left the factory with. I made a 2900 mile round trip to North Carolina last week with NO battery problems. I am just gonna see long it last now!................ Also, it's NEVER been on a tender or charger of any kind.
