just changed my fork oil with type E HD fluid, rode the bike for awhile and started to notice alot more vibration than I remembered before. started to second guess if I put the proper amount of fluid in. it also pulled to the right side when i let go of the handlebars. the bike is 2004 dyna wide glide. my clymers manual says 12 fl. oz. but doesn't ****ing specify 12 fl. oz. per tube or split the difference! grrr...any help here would be great. thanks in advance.
I would have to say its the amount of oil per fork tube. My hd manual gives capacities for wet and dry. Can't really say it would ride different since hd oil is probably what it had to begin with. Did you remove the bars to put in fluid? Check that the bars are centered in the trees. If they're off you'll sit differently while riding, therefore when you let go of them your weight affects the bikes balance. my .02

yeah its 12 oz. I'm gonna drain it and do over again just to be sure. if I still feel a vibration and it steers to the right again its going to my buddys shop. may just be wheel out of balance or something. I HOPE! thanks again. (oh btw I've got solid mount drag bars they have integrated risers, got tired of my bars vibrating loose and moving around on me.)
I used to run the screaming eagle high perf fork oil in my 2004 WG but it was lowered,it firms things up a little but still a good ride with the Progressive lowering springs I had in it. (actually the bike was a 2004 FXDLi with a 2006 Softail nightrain front end on it) But if memory serves me right it was the same 12oz per tube.

If you did not lose a wheel weight, move the handle bar mounts, not change the alignment of the fork tubes in the triple clamps.....
A higher weight fork oil will stiffen (or slow) the fork movement both rebound and compression.
Additional ounces of the same weight fluid will stiffen the fork movement in compression.
Could your vibration actually be your feeling of irregularities of the road surface?
